I kinda started goin' thru the NW Check in thread but it got really long and onto other subjects. I saw 1 other Idaho person fron Cour de lane (?). Any one else from Idaho? I'm from Nampa, 20 miles west of Boise.
How early can everyone make it? HBRK is having a run that day to Two Headed Dragon (2HD), they're headed out of Nampa at 8:30 and will probably be wheelin' by 9am. 2HD is one of the hardest trails around and if anyone wants to tag along they don't care. They usually have some nice rigs and they're fun to watch.
Ok, let's see what happens with everyone else. Maybe you and I can head out a little early and watch those guys and then we can meet up with the other group for a while.
Ok, Driver and I are meeting @ Dan's Ferry at 9AM. We'll head down to 2HD and watch those guys. If we have time, we can head up Lost Trail and mess around (2HD branches off of Lost Trail) and then head back to meet the others @ 11.
My wife is going to Vegas for the weekend leaving the JK unguarded! I worked yesterday(saturday) so should have next saturday free, baring any unexpected meltdowns. So, Dan's Ferry it is at 11:am. Will probably bring a couple of passengers with me and appropriate snacks, beverages and cameras.
I don't know if I am gonna make it at 9 because of my friends that are coming. Give me a call if you want.
Edit: I will be showing up at 11 my friends who have there own Jeep don't want to take it now, but want to ride with me so 11 at walters ferry is when I will show up.
Wow!!! Really great pics! Notice that there are some of the crew missing. We started out as a larger group. Some of us decided that we weren't equipped to blaze the more difficult terrain so we split off for a tamer trail. Several of us got to Dan's Ferry early and followed some rock crawlers and watched them for a bit.
Sam and I went back to Dan's Ferry to wait for the rest of the group to arrive. I gathered names but failed to associate with outfits. Myself, Chris Wood, my passenger, Sam johnston(red rock JK). Brock and Kelly Frazier. Joe Lake(silver TJ). Andy (Can't read last name Ford PU). Sean Walter (4 Runner). Clark Gillespie(Green JK). Some others, including John the Dogman.
We headed up toward MeatGrinder(?) but decided that this was where we would split the group.
We ended the day giving all our outfits a mud bath!
All in all it was a really great time! Was really fun wheeling with everyone and am looking forward to all of us getting together again sometime (soon I hope). Thanks everyone!
James here (the Noob in the Rubi). I had a BLAST. Though we didn't do too many obstacles, I think that was a great run to loose my "virginity" to. From inside the cab, that first off camber stop about made me poop myself.
My wife and I say Thank You Joe for inviting us to join. I apologize for not remembering names. Dogman, thanks helping a stranger get started. Driver, spotting me made a world of difference in confidence. To help a "nobody" like me means alot.
We can't wait to get together again for some more!!!
Feel free to DL the vids. Mine is just over 30meg. Joe's are about 15 meg. It will probably be better to save them instead of trying to stream them.
