P.s. make sure not to bring pre-made frozen burgers, I know someone that may not eat 'em. Not me of course![/QUOTE]

That's why I said, I thought chili was bringing the dogs. I didn't want the wife to have to hand make all the burgers,( not that you guys aren't worth it) so I got the pre-made ones.

I hope we can make it up to SC I have never been there, I'm looking forward to the whole drive though.

I got this from the Silver City site, road conditions for the drive,

][/I]Update 24 APR 09

The road is in good condition up to the snow line. The county will be plowing the road the week before Memorial weekend as usual.

And as of 10 APR 09 the watchman said the snow in Silver is at 24", New York summit is bear, Haus grade is about 30" and gets soupy in the afternoons. No one has come in from the OR side in about a month.

It sounds like it's going to be a great day!

I'll bring a large bag (s) of Nacho Cheese Doritos...and paper plates!

Sounds like we should be set.

Anyone care to bring dessert?

Figured it was board related.
I've been to SC a few times both up the main road and in and out the back way that I described. The last time I went there was some snow on the ground but not too bad.

And don't sweat the comment. I think it's rather funny that I have a post about every 3rd post here - now let's just hope my boss doesn't find out

Some really good changes were in store where needed and they were keeping the things that didn't need change.

I'm not sure what happened to the IH deal; I remember reading about it in JP but nowhere else and I haven't heard anything since that article.

P.s. I don't like it either when people complain about free food

The few times I've been there we've had a couple of small water crossings but not that much.

Here's a pic from the first time me, Dogman (that's him in the pic) and Bluesman went up there; this is about the largest water crossing I've seen in the area...I've got some other pics when I was there with snow on the ground, If I can find them I'll post something up...

Given the warm weather we've had we might just be in luck going up there...

That's cool, it would be good to have you along but if you don't make it we understand.

Nope, not mine. But for $440 that guy might be coming out ahead? I had 5 tires shipped to my door for $475.

Are you going to be able to make it tomorrow bmlawless?

Does anyone have a car hauler I could use; we're picking up a new project.

Would prefer to use it this Sunday but whenever works for me...

Thanks...

P.s. I also need an SWR meter if anyone has one.

Tommy yes, the girls had been invited by friends to a very important event that starts at 4PM. We don't want to risk them missing it, the friends would be very disappointed (as would we). They are very happy to be going to this event, but are very sad they are going to miss this run. Thanks for asking about them. Had the table out the other night, sure wish you were here.

TW- I'm glad you finally spoke up about going. I was going to start asking you about it today. I hope you find the time buddy.

Chili-That was a good idea giving a count several posts back, has there been anymore since then?

BMlawless-this sounds like a perfect run for you, are you gonna make it?

Lets hope it's nicer than today!

I probably won't go. I am driving to Orange County next week and I need to put new brakes on my Infiniti. I'm not clear on the road conditions. Is it going to be a muddy mess with a few inches of snow or a foot of snow or what?
