Technically it isn't closed as there is no closer sign, but this is a very sensitive area and could be closed very easy, there are 4x4 clubs working on making this a OHV park unless the area gets trashed before it gets ok'ed.

I still wouldn't recomend going in there. I doubt it'll become a "park" as that would indicate privately owned. It'll hopefully become part of an ever expanding trail system for the Central Oregon area.

Park as in County/State owned. Like Millican and East Fort Rock, and it is in the works along with another area out there. But yes please don't go out there and make the county close it for ever.

If anyone is interested in exploring the local hills, I like to head out every couple of weekends. Normally no hardcore wheeling mostly just finding new places. Just let me know. I'll post up when I know I'm going. I'm out inbetween Eugene and Junction City.

hello from Bend. Is the schwarz area that you all are talking about just outside of Prineville off the millican hwy? If it is my buddy just went out there a couple of weeks ago and he didn't run into any road closed signs or have any problems with anybody. He did mention that you run into some private property before you get to the river. Anyways, hi from Bend.
