Looking for my old Cherokee

Has anyone seen it by chance? I'm trying to find it, with hopes of buying it back. I live in St. Helens Oregon. I haven't seen it since, and hate myself for selling it.

I haven't seen it, but I'm clear on the other side of the country. . .

If you happen to still have the VIN number, you can go to the DMV and find the current owner, or maybe they can look it up in their records for you. . .

I don't think I have the vin number, but I do have the license plate number (if they weren't changed). I really want the dang thing back.

If you still have the same insurance company, you might still have records that show the VIN number. If not, you might be able to call your agent. If it wasn't too long ago that you sold it, they might still have a record of it.

I'll try that I guess. I have a bad feeling about it all though. I never took it off road, say for the snow in the winter. When the guy left, he said he was going to show his kid what a Jeep can do. It might be all cut up now.

even going to the DMV and giving them the VIN won't get you far because they will cite "privacy acts/laws" and likely won't tell you a thing about it even if it does still show as being currently registered.

So do you have the VIN number? A CARFAX will tell you where it was last licensed at least. It's a start.
Unless 1979 is too old to CARFAX which may be the case

I don't know if I still have the vin, it's around here somewhere. Never thought about carfax, that's a good idea

I was informed just yesterday by a customer that was trying to look up a 1986 model vehicle that carfax would not give him any info. I believe it was because of the age of the vehicle. Sorry to relay some bad news. Good luck finding you vehicle.

Found the address of the people who bought it, didn't see the jeep anywhere. I wonder where it went?
