(Sorry for the ignorance but.....)
I've been up to Browns Camp several times before, but only with friends, and a few of those times were on quads. Now that I have my own rig, I was wondering how the trail system works up there for vehicles. I hear there's some sort of permit that's required. Is that for JUST the trails, or does that mean you have to have this permit for the logging roads up there too? Not sure how it all works, any advice would be great. Thanks!

I believe you need the permit for driving any where off paved roads. Its 10$ for 2 years for the permit. I got mine at Joes in delta park. They will ticket you for not having it from what i have herd. I did go up there once with out mine but didn't get caught. Cause how cheap they are, i would say just go get one to be one the safe side.

Last I heard the fine was $140. I've seen the rangers watch vehicles go in one section of a trail and if they see you don't have a permit, they drive to the section where you would normally exit, ready to issue a fine. You can easily get a permit at the Gales Creek Shell (last gas station before you enter Brown's camp).

Also you can pick up a nice map there. Might wanna call ahead and make sure they have permits in stock. But i have herd you can get out of your fine if that gas station is out of permits cause you made an attempt to get a permit before you went in to the woods.

Permits can also be purchased at the Forestry center and the Honda Shop in Forest Grove

Is just a fee you have to pay to get a permit/sticker, or are there certain requirements to get one? I'm hoping to get this handled before the weekend.

awesome. Thanks for the info! I ended up spending most the weekend dealing with bs around the house, and trying to track down the appropriate lug nut combination for the wheel spacers I got last week. That was an ordeal, lemme tell ya. -So where is a good place to go to get a permit. The only place that I ever knew of was that one little gas station below Brown's Camp, and their reputation seems to be that they're always out. ANy places local that you (or anyone else) know of? -Thanks again guys!
