Tree run 28 or 29 Nov?

It's that time of year again. Dang, it seems like it came quicker this year too. I'm open to either day. A few places I know to go are either FR70, Copper Creek(FR59?), or Skate Creek(FR52). I'm open to something new this year. Snow may be a bigger issue this year too.

Count me in at anyone of them places!

EDIT: We never get a tree until after the 13th of December out of consideration for my youngest's birthday. Nonetheless, I'd like to tag along just for the heck of it!

Hey, we've gone on FS70, but the trees are better up FS72. We're going the day after Thanksgiving. We're gonna try and go up FS72. Last year there was no snow on the lower portions, but where we got our tree it was snowing.

Do you take FR72 off of 410 or FR70?

Can't go on Friday or Saturday, I'll be in Spokane. Good luck! They (news reports) say there's snow from just outside Greenwater to Crystal. Should be a blast!

Sure, you won't know until you try. I would suggest chains, or a least your own tow strap so if we have to pull you, it'll be your strap getting soaked!

I'm leaning towards the Ashford or Gifford Pinchot area on Saturday. I don't think they've had as much snow, plus it's a larger area. At least their site has maps I checked out, so if we can get anywhere, there should be more opportunities for better trees. Tags can be had in Elbe on the way. Plus, it's a different area to see than FR70 all the time. We might be able to get to an ice-cave or even do an easy Elbe Hills trail on the way home!

So far maybe 6 rigs going. I've researched the snow depths and so far, we may be Ok up to 3,000ft. Big snowfall is supposed to hit Friday night. Elevation North out of Randle starts at 700ft, so hopefully we'll have plenty of pickins. We'll get the $5 permits in Randle at the ranger station so we can get the latest map for that area. Jeff, I suspect we'll meet you in Morton? If so, we'll shoot for 9am at Hwy 7 and 224th st. in Spanaway and 10 amish in Morton. Maybe bump it up an hour earlier if we want to do that. Iraq, make sure you go with another vehicle, I haven't heard of anyone else going on Friday.
