Thurston Area Jeepers!

Hey y'all,

I hadn't seen a thread for Olympia or any of the areas around it, so I figured I would start one. I love owning my Jeep, it has kept me sane through some rough **** so far. I take it out whenever I can and am always looking for someone to go with and learn new places to go. My JK is pretty much stock, all I've done was upgrade from the standard Sport model wheels/tires to Rubicon wheels/tires. So I obviously don't do any aggressive off roading, but I love the rocking feeling while I'm blazing across some muddy uneven terrain. Hopefully we can start getting people together for some good summer trail riding.

I'm up in DuPont. I've got an 08 KK, with a few modifications. Installing my lift tomorrow. I don't do much hardcore wheeling either, but I spend a lot of time on forest roads.

Alpine Lakes Wilderness area, up by Snohomish. Sometimes out to the peninsula. I just recently moved down to the south end, used to live up in Lynnwood, so I'm not to familiar with trails around here. How about you?

I normally go out and ride the trails in Capitol Forest. I've only been going for a few months though, so I don't know them that well either. But that's half the fun of off roading for me, getting lost and finding my way again.

I usually go to Elbe or Tahuya. I want to get down to Straddle Line by Olympia. I haven't been yet.

I've driven by it, but never gone. Straddleline looks like a nice park.

I've heard its pretty decent. Elbe is a lot of fun. Tahuya is ok but its a bit of a drive to get there.

I've heard of tahuya, lot of the Marines in my unit when I was stationed at Bangor would go up there. Never been trailing in Elbe though.

Elbe is nice. There are some areas where your Jeep will be tipped sideways enough to give the surroundging trees a little love tap with the top of your rig. Some decent puddles too.

I'm in Federal Way. I'll go anywhere in Washington for some good wheeling. My Jeep is pretty well equipped to get through most trails.

I'll be watching this thread to see if anybody is wanting to go anywhere on a particular day.
