I'm from Wenatchee, but I'm in Spoke about everyother weekend seeing my girlfriend. I don't really know any place to wheel around there, other than driving down sprague can be pretty exhilerating sometimes.

The mountains are calling and I must go.

Better chain up boys, it's about to get slippery!

Spraque is not the only place where driving can be exhilerating! Try Division/Ruby, Hamilton, etc....

Next time you are planning on coming over, let us know a couple of days ahead of time and we'll get you set up to go out to 7 Mile - its 600 acres of just about everything an off-roader would want, from places you can take passenger cars to hills that require lockers front and rear!

Here's a website I created for the Washington Off-Highway Vehicle Alliance (WOHVA - Washington Off Highway Vehicle Alliance)that describes the 7 Mile ORV Area:

WOHVA WA State Off-Highway Catalog :: Riverside State Park ORV Area

Please e-mail me outside of the forum for specifics!

Paul

I will definitaley get ahold of you fellas, that sounds pretty fun. I probably won't be back until december though, how would it be with snow if we had any by then though?

I've been out there in normal winters and it's not too bad.

However, it this winter ends up being like the last two - forget it! We had over 90 inches of snow in each of the last two years so the park as unpassible!

That much snow makes it fun to drive around town before the plows hit the streets though!

While that may be true (my 07 Rubicon got around just fine), when you get 5 feet in three weeks, that's a bit too much.

The street in front of where I live didn't get plowed for over a month. The depth of the snow was unbelievable and then the ruts made it more interesting.

Yeah, the ruts and ICE on the roads especially last year were very terrible. My girlfriend lives way up on the south hill up on 29th and southeast. I played hell trying to make it up to her house sometimes.

I'm glad I decided not to live on the South Hill. I've been up there enough times to know the traffic up there is horrible, even on nice clear, sunny days.

BTW, I live on the north side near Francis and Nevada!

Let's get together the next time you are over this way!

Are you asking about cool stuff or did you check out my link to the 7 Mile ORV Area?

As for other places, the amount of snow typically in the mountains north and east of Spokane pretty much limit where we can go in the winter. The USFS normally closes most trails from the end of November until the end of March - but that does vary by USFS unit. You can check their Travel Management web page for the specifics.

Keep us posted when you are coming by and we can at least go out to 7 Mile!

Although 7 Mile is open year round, in the winter (from December 1st through around the end of March to mid-April - depends upon snow), the park is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Check out all the info here:
WOHVA WA State Off-Highway Catalog :: Riverside State Park ORV Area

See you soon?????
