Snow run Saturday 01-26-08

So far 3 rigs heading out from Spanaway at 12pm to investigate the route from Ashford to Randle. If you want to join in the fun call 253-686-6878 tomorrow after 8am

I just wanted to say thanks to Andy, i know i called him up last minute last night but he was down to go and we had a good time, and also doug for coming along too. I'll post my pics here up soon.

OK! I missed out. I got the call, but my cell phone was in the Jeep all night! Soooo.... let me see what I missed.

31 muds, 500lbs winch, 1" lift, tow straps, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, axe, shovel and...?

Someone doesn't know how to drive

1st obstacle

Can you say snow

Doug is stuck

So is Frank

No problem

After Frank left, we took the Elbe Hills to Eatonville rd back. 1st obstacle

2nd obstacle

This doesn't look this good anymore after Doug destroyed it trying to go around 2nd obstacle. Apparently Rubis are only good on rock, as I had to place a whole bunch for him to make it

Andy and I yook a side trip on the way home, and after stopping for dinner in Eatonville, we got home about 10pm, or a little before.

Very interesting to see how two totally different rigs handle in identical conditions.

I had a helluva time getting over this little berm on our side trip, even with both lockers locked. We spent about an hour messing around trying to get my heep over it. Tow strap, Stacking rocks, trying it in reverse, stacking more rocks.

I will add that when a Rubi gets stuck, it is stuck pretty good, because of using the lockers to get buried in the first place!!

The heep performed well with the new gears and other junk I spent tousands of dollars on while it was in the shop getting upgrades.
Felt good to get back in the woods with it.
