Ocean Shores GO Topless Run 06.28.08

5 days away!

Starting a new thread for this, since it becomes harder to find after while and it gets lost easy.

Doing a quick roll call for those who want to drive down with the caravan and are going to be at the meeting point. This way we'll know who we're waiting for.. Either chime in here or PM. Thanks!

Fun Run to the Beach!
Jeepers go Topless!

Hello everyone-

We will be doing a relaxed run to Ocean Shores for a fun time on the beach, kite flying, BBQing, relaxing, meeting others, etc. We have invited the Toyota FJ clubs and now this run has opened to all, just not Jeepers but, I think majority will be Jeepers. During this time this is what’s going on:

"The Five Star Dealerships Sand & Sawdust Festival" http://www.oceanshoresact.com/events.html#sand

A few of us will be setting up some popup tents, tarps and tables also a few small camping grills for people to use. Bring your own lunch also dinner for those staying all night.

Here is some ideal equipment to bring:
Shovel
Recovery gear (we've been asked to help pull out a number of vehicles in the past. Karma bank get full fast)
Flash light for night
First Aid kit
Tools

Things you should bring:
Extra Warm clothes
Food & Refreshment
Beach toys (kites, bucket & shovel, Frisbee, etc.)
Camping Chairs

The plan is to meet at Tacoma Mall parking lot (I think it’s Sears?) the parking lot that is closes to I-5 @ 7:00am and hopefully the caravan will leave by 7:30am. Once we get to Ocean Shores we will find a place to set up the tents, tables, camping grills, etc. and then everyone go have fun on the beach. *Check the website for times for “The Five Star Dealerships Sand & Sawdust Festival". If everything goes as planned, at dusk we will have a bonfire.

*Those who decide to drive down on their own and not with the caravan to meet up later. We will be setting up on the beach between the beach entrance by the McDonalds and the beach entrance by the I think it’s the Motel 6, if it's not the Motel 6 there’s a Motel or Hotel on your left just before you get on the beach.

Date: June 28th
Time: 7am meeting time and caravan leave to Ocean around 730am
Meeting Place: Tacoma Mall (Sears’s parking lot?) parking lot closes to I-5

Hope to see ya out there

Thanks cmyjeep

I just got off the phone with the owner yesterdays campgrounds and he said he has plenty of room. He also mention that he has group site available. It is $16.00 per tent. If anyone decides later that they want to stay you can check in when we get there, no res. needed.

* Did you see the weather OH YEAH!

We're hoping to pick y'all up either on your way through Central Park between Monte and Aberdeen... or find you out at the beach.

Hopefully we'll be able to find you - there seems to be lots of Jeeps being towed around here during the summer. If you see someone driving a totally stock white 99 TJ looking lost, that might be us.

(BTW, both Sears and Penney's are on the freeway side of I-5 at the Tacoma Mall - right by Krispy Kreme!)

Hi Michelle-

You shouldn't miss us, look for the three 10x10 pop up tents and of course all the Jeeps and FJ's on the beach. Anyone at the beach is more then welcome to stop by hang out and setup your gear if you want.

* There's a Krispy Kreme over there huh? ummmmmmm it maybe hard to leave at 0730.

A little on the windy side, actually chilly. But still fun. Quite a few people getting stuck on the beach right in front of us.

Here's the pics I took

Hey Ryland (Spelling?)

Yes, I'll vouch for that, 1st rescue on the day
I think I have those pics for ya, I just need to download them

I like to thank all those who came out, it was a blast and we couldn't have asked for better weather and great company. We started with 9 rigs in the convoy and then had a few at the beach meet up with us, also had alot of random Jeepers stop by and say hello. I'll post up pics later Great Time Guys!

So cmyjeep what was the final count of vehicle rescues? 40? or 50?

P.S. Also want to make this clear the jeep in the dunes in PepCs X pictures was not with us. That is a big no-no at the ocean and is a healthy fine.
