Has there been a problem with people and guns on runs lately?

not on any of the runs we've been on. and we always stress a family friendly type gathering, as children often do come along.

Safety of all attendees is the utmost importance.

No, but some of the new listers have mentioned that they're doing this on their runs and I want to make sure that if they come with me that they don't.
Liquid courage only enables stupid people do even stupider thinks like break their ride, damage the enviroment, or hurt someone, so everyone else has to now help deal with their stupidity. So, No guns or alcohol on the trail! If it's a multi-day outing(campout), no problems with alcohol after the ride or shooting away from camp.
BTW, my wife and younger are coming along.

I've not encountered either on the group runs I've been on, but I've seen plenty of it with other groups out there at Naches - not to say that it has been anyone from here though.

there was something written about some "ak47 action" after a run.... forgot where i read it though.
to each his own, and if people want to do that, then they need to be aware that it should be done AWAY from the group, way up in the hills or something, with their friends who they are familiar with.

safety, safety, safety.

i personally am not comfortable being around guns and people I have not met before when I have no idea what their level of safe and conscious gun handling is (or isn't). i'm not against guns, it's just some folks have a different idea of how they are handled.

heck, 7 years ago a guy accidentally killed is kid at a gravel pit along FR70 that was notorious for "target practicing" because he wasn't totally aware of everything going on around him and where his kid was.

Ah! Guns should be discharged in self defense or at the gun range. I was just wondering if there was an "incident."

An 8 year old with a full auto, what were they thinking. I personaly don't have a problem with people carrying guns on the runs I attend, just as long it is carried legal(CCW or unloaded while in the vehicle), stays holstered, and somewhat concealed. There are alot of whack jobs that enjoy the same areas we do and a little extra protection for my family is always welcome.

Ditto, I don't care if we carry, I just don't need redneck wannabees shooting on a run. Were on a Jeep run, not a shooting run.
