M416 Trailer licensing

About to pull the trigger on one of these bad boys to tow behind the YJ. Needs a bit of work, no problem there. Will make for a fun project.

My question is, how hard is it to get licensing / title for it. Its never been licensed before. Ive heard of horror stories about getting trailers road worthy in the states eyes. Any input you all can give me would be great!

I bought a utility trailer that was built on a farm in Idaho. I read over the requirements and If I remember correctly I had to add mud flaps to the fenders because they were supposed to go down to the axle height. I also changed out the safety chains to meet the requirements for strength. I took it to the inspection station with my bill of sale. they checked the trailer over, took my money, stamped a serial number into the trailer frame and I was good to go. Not much of a hassle at all.

are you buying that one that's been on Craigslist for a while? just out of curiosity. I know two guys who have those trailers and didn't have any problems. do you have its issue papers?
