Just moved to Seattle. Looking for good place to get parts.

I live in downtown seattle and am looking for a good either "pull a part" spot or a used wheel/tire place to get some wheels and tires for my 95 Grand Cherokee.

If anyone knows a spot let me know.

You might try some of the various Les Schwab Tire centers--many times I've gone into them and they had take off tire & rims. I know for a fact the one in Yakima on Yakima ave had a take off set of tires & rims from a newer Grand Cherokee for sale when I was there a while back but I don't know if they still have them anymore. I've also seen them for sale on craigslist.

Thanks so you think best bet is firs tto go to a Les Schwab? I wanted to find just some decent wheels and tires for it as my BFG's are getting a bit worn out and I have other things I want to do to the jeep first.

Olympic 4x4 in Snohomish can be a little proud of their pricing. I needed a T-case shift lever and they wanted to charge me for the used part the same price as the dealer wanted for a brand new part. You could probably haggle with them but I'm not sure the drive up there is worth the gas money and time unless you're going to save a pile vs. new parts.

I think there are some junk yards down in the Kent / Auburn area, and possibly out at Four Corners near Maple Valley. There are also some on Hwy 99 north of seattle, IIRC. Best thing to do is crack open the yellow pages and call up the places to see what vehicles they have.

As for used tires. . . again, check the phone book (or online) and call them up.

Oh, and welcome to Seattle.

Thanks for the advice this weekend I think I might take a few hours and get some things done to the ZJ. I needed an oil change and also wanted a new muffler installed as well. I will start hunting down decent wheels and tires.

If you end up with a set in next few weeks let me know I don't mind making a good trip up that way
