I have around 3500 cash to spend on a jeep. I moved here recently and I want to have some fun in the mud with a new project! Please help? :)

Check craigslist. There is a ton of them on there.

Thanks! I have been but I'll keep doing that. Is there a specific area that'd be better to checkout?

Are you looking for something specific?

My daughter will have hers up for sale pretty soon, 3" or so lift, 30" inch tires, lockers both ends. 1987 XJ 4.0l rebuilt 30k ago, roof rack. Not anything special. 2500.00

Looking for pretty much anything in my price range , a Cherokee is probably going to be my best shot right ? I've been shopping for late 90s I've had 2 before and they've treated me pretty well. Do you have a picture? That sounds cool

I will get a couple of pics up this weekend, we are doing some cleaning on it, it has been sitting for a few months waiting on me to do some work to it. Should have it done this weekend.

I would look at a 92+ at least. That will get you the 4.0 HO engine with the non vacuum disconnect front axle. Personally, I like the look and the interior of the 1998-2001 the best.
Cherokees that have been lifted are often beat or the lift was a hack job but the one you linked to looks very good. Do you have a person that can go with you to take a look at it that knows Jeeps?

Unfortunately I'm pretty new to the state and have stumbled upon mostly Honda civic drivers ha! So I'm a little alone on this one. I always had that assistance at home so I'm getting advice via phone I don't know if that will cut it though.

If you need to you can swing by my house and I'll check out whatever you are looking at provided the owner of the car doesn't care.

Oh that'd be awesome thanks! What area are you in ?

Also I was thinking about going the dealer route what's your opinion about that? So far I have just met a lot of slime ball salesmen but I've seen some seemingly good deals out there.

I'm in Pacific, just south of Auburn. You usually pay a premium for going to a dealer and it's usually easier to haggle with a private party.
