Evans Creek 7/30/12

Anyone wanna run 311 and 520 at Evans Creek on Monday (7/30)? Sir Hucksallot and I are the only ones going so far, anyone is welcome to join. Doing 311 and 520 cause theyre easy and I only have 29s right now. If anyone can make it, thatd would be great! Let me know!

What time. Also, I've only wheeled at evens a few times. The last time was over a year ago, and there was snow. How are the 311 & 520 trails? Now, I know I'm gonna catch some **** for asking this but, are those trails narrow, as in are there bushes and brushes that are gonna give me unwanted pin striping on my Jeep, or are they wide enough not to worry?

We would would most likely meet sometime between 10:00-12:00, we can work out whatever works, Im flexible. 311 is in good shape and last time I went (a month or so ago) there was some snow at the top toward 520, but with the good weather its probably gone. Ive got a winch and tow straps if thats not the case. The trails themselves are narrow, but 311 theres no trees that stick out or anything, its just kinda tight, especially with a 4 door, but its nothing to worry about really, we'll just go slow and be careful, no need to damage our rigs (right Cameron?). I personally havent run 520, but Im wanting to go on it, and from what Ive heard, its easier than 311 which I can do just fine. So Im not worried about it. Also Ive only done lower 311, not upper. we can try upper if everyone is up to it, its just a bit tighter.

The 311s are easy, most of the lower 520 is easy but there are a few tight spots. Not sure if the snow is all gone from the upper 520 but there are a few challenges on it anyway. There are some of us heading up there tomorrow morning. If your worried about scratches, good luck, should be fine it's been dry long enough.

From a few weeks ago...

Would join you but that's a little late for me I have to work in the afernoon.

Good luck and Enjoy

My friend ran it last week and said te snow is mostly gone which is great. I like lower 311. Kinda nervous for 520, but itll be exciting.

It's pretty rocky in spots, basket ball and larger size boulders that move around on the trail. I've done it many times in an open/ open XJ on 31's with just a 3" lift. But you have to really pick your lines.

Five of us met this morning at the Burnett store. My XJ, an open/ open 4 cyl TJ, a 06 LJ Rubi, a JK swb Rubi and a 4Runner. We ran both 311s and the lower 520 then exited down the lower 198. The 311s were fun no real problems on the lower. The upper is always a bit of a challenge with the boulders. The 520 is getting to be a bit tougher, tight turns and bigger ruts and holes to slide into, but we all made it with no real issues. The 198 meets the 520 where you can either turn right to go up the upper 520 or go straight down . The 198 was very muddy with lots of off camber drops and holes. We all had a few OH S*** moments and a lot of pucker time but no real carnage or breakage. Good times

I'm on 34s, the LJ has 35s I think every one else was on 33s or bigger. Just be careful and pick your line and take your time. Good luck

Oh ya don't be to proud to pull out the winch before you tear up your rig trying too much skinny pedal.
