That's what I wonder sometimes, I'll post it in the Washington thread. Yes I'm ready to go break trail. It's still snowing at our house it had to be getting pounded around Ashford and Elbe.

Didn't he just have his jeep re-geared? When I had mine re-geared to 4.88's I had to have both drivelines rebalanced and the rear one they had to cut the stub shaft off and reweld because it was out 30 thousandths of an inch, I picked all sort of vibes because the driveline was spinning like 30% percent faster so that could be his problem. Hope this helps.

you turn off the main road on to Skate Creek Road (that's the road that goes from ashford to packwood) then at the end of the long straightaway, veer right.
it's only a mile or two off the main highway tat goes to Mt Rainier Park.

I have my doubts that much progress will be made past where we kept getting stuck last weekend unless the base snow has froze and not be so sloppy.

don't count on me showing though, i still need to test drive my POS and see what tonight's wrenching resulted in fixing or making worse.

Ditto, retired AF Flight Engineer. Yes Vince, if Monte can get us that far. He and his rig is pretty capable. It's off of Hwy 7(706) just before Mt Rainier Park entrance. If you want to meet up, meet me at Shell Gas next to Fred Meyers Hwy 7 and 224st at 0900.
This is what the area looks like in the dry

Andy and I rolled out just a little after 9am and headed towards Elbe. In Elbe we found Elkfan2 and group.

Most all of my pics are from the tail end perspective of the group since I was tail gunner.

In Ashford:

A few miles past Ashford we turned off on Skate Creek Road:

Then a short distance later we made a right and a quick left

The snow got deeper as we went

Fully locked was the order of the day for me

We stopped for a quick photo shoot

Elkfan2 (Monty) was in the lead, breaking trail.

The Line up

Purdy....

Snow was getting deeper...

Up to the doors

It finally got to the point where Monty was only able to push snow 30-40 before having to back up and go for it again, so we turned around, which turned out to be an episode in 3 of us winching.

My new hub caps

Nisqually River

In Mineral

View from the other side

After leaving Mineral we found our propsed route blocked by a gate, so we went back to highway 7 and took another side road and found the snow was much deeper at lower elevations from the previous snow bashing, and it was a wetter snow.

In my attempts to pull Andy back on the road, he slid off again.

At the u-turn

Airing back up back at highway 7
