Easton to Enumclaw

I was looking at Google Maps and it looks like it possible to go from Easton to Enumclaw on some forest service roads. I was up there yesterday trying to find it (with no luck). I did come across this awesome view though! Anyway, has anyone ever heard of/tried that?

I've wanted to find that connection via Stampede Pass, too. Rumor is that it no longer goes through. But I hope you prove the rumor wrong! I'd like to make that attempt, too...I know this;

You can go to the 307 trail accessible via the Manastash Campground near Ellensburgh/Torpe Road. Until the last year or so that 307 trail would take you to Hwy 410 and dump you about a mile west of Whistlin' Jacks. That said, I was there last weekend, and that trail, the 307, had been washed out, and was inaccessible. Still, you could go via the Lilly Pond & Kaner Trails accessible from the 307 to get to Hwy 410. Fun trail, but can be very difficult depending on conditions. That trail will never be easier than it is right now in August...

I went a ways off of exit 62 (off i90) until I saw a sign that said "road closed west of lester" (if I am remembering correctly). Looking at the map now it looks like that may have been the road and I think you're right it doesn't go through any more. I wish I had just taken it anyway!

With regards to anything near Ellensburg...I got my first Jeep while I was going to school there so I am very familiar with pretty much all of the forest service roads and trails within 20 miles. I try to go back all the time but yes there are tons of ways, when you go up Manastash to get to 410.

Punisher, looks fun. Inbox me next time you think of going. Im new to the game myself. My jeep is lightly set up for offroading. (See sig) but nothing too crazy. Would love to go mess around and learn slowly.

Well that area could definitely be called light offroading mostly forest service roads but some of the ones that offshoot from the main roads can flex you out a bit....

greenwater F.S. 70 rd, to 7030,to twin camps-- not sure either 7036 or7038 , drops into the valley goes to lester. we use to haul logs to Easton via Tacoma pass F.S. 41 or 4110 (been 23 years ago !) from Twin Camps area. (bridge may be out going that way)

did a little more digging. Stampede rd 54 to fs 52 fs 7040 to fs 7036 to twin camps to 7030 to fs 70 to hwy 410. 54rd jct. with fs 52 is close to Lester. (east of it)
From twin camps you can also drop into the Little Naches fs 1913 to fs 19 road -- hwy 410 west of Cliffdell

BaddAndy is the guy that would know how to get through. Last time he & I spoke he said "no, not anymore", but don't remember the "why" of it. That said, it's fun to get out there and try. A good GPS with PNW trails on it, or a guide like BaddAndy would make it that much better.

Since I got my jeep, I've been wanting to mess around in Forest Service roads, just to see If I can get to the other side of the Mountains. I want to see how my jeep fares in the snow

Well there is definitely getting to be some snow up there now. Hopefully they don't close to many roads for snow park usage

Pete's route is the one, there is another way(the old FR41 that takes you to the bridge in the earlier pic), but that's an officially closed route, wink wink. There are bypasses to washouts for trail rigs, but it might be washed out again. A few years ago someone made a new FR41 route over Beeler Pass which had an intimidating off-camber burlap layered hill, but that one too washed out. I swore I had found another FR41 route , but couldn't find it last attempt. It can get dicey up top north of Twin camp in the snow. All routes N-S are not doeable during the winter due to snow depth. 1st pic is May and we couldn't make it over nothbound due to snow, and the 2nd was late Oct. which we made it over.
