Drive through Palmer then turn left onto Buffalo Mine Rd. From there you just drive up the windy road till you see a turnout on the right hand side that drops off pretty steep. As far as mods needed I'm not sure. I've only been out there when it was like 3' of snow, but I hear that it get muddy out there and that there is some water crossing (nothing too bad). It's pretty moderate over all though. just gonna be slick out there with the mud. Luckily there is pleanty of trees to winch off of need be.

I still plan on going out this weekend. Saturday to be precise. I'm waiting on conformation from a coworker if he's gonna go. If not me and another coworker will go to hatchers pass or B-29. Him on his 4 wheeler and me & the wife in the Jeep.

Yeah. I can't guarantee the situation out there to tell you that you'd be fine. I've done some research and have seen some really deep puddles and I've seen some regular old mud pits around this time of year. That's Alaska for ya I guess.

Welocme to the forum. May 21st is the annual Knik River Clean Up if you're interested in meeting some fellow Jeepers. Just come out help pick up some of the many empties and other trash out there and then meet up for the BBQ afterwards.

cool, look forward too it.
If Anyone is coming out to help with the clean up all you need is:
Garbage bags
Gloves
Rain gear in case Alaska wants to dump on us
Recovery gear (no required, there's probably going to be enough out there)
I'd also bring some food to snack on. It been said food will be provided to those who help, but better safe than starving.

What's up fellas? I have been on Jeep Forum for a year or so, but never really checked out the Alaska section. I think I might come out and help with the clean up so I can meet some fellow jeepers. Where would I go for it?

It's Jims Creek. Take the Old Glenn exit on the Glenn highway and follow it until you see the signs for the raceway. Take that right and follow it until you see two big gravel and dirt lots. There will be pleanty of people out there (always is) and I'm sure someone can direct you where to go from there.

I might be coming out with Woods0319. My Jeep needs some work so I am not totally comfortable driving out there. If I can't hook up with woods I will try to figure out another way out there.
