Yukon tow hooks?

Alright so my mom has a 2000 Yukon and I want to steal the tow hooks off of that and plant them on my rig. I looked under there and only one bolt is holding them on. But I'm not sure how to mount them on the jeep. I'm sure I'd figure something out but I don't have my jeep right now. I can only see it every other weekend because I am in Texas for school and the jeep is back home. So my question is, can I mount these tow hooks on the jeep or will I need to make a special bracket or am I better off buying some legit jeep tow hooks. I'd prefer shackles but I'm on a budget for now.

They look pretty wide, and long as well. As long as they fit In place and don't hit anything I don't see why you couldn't mount them. They'd probably hold a strap better than the factory hooks too. You'd have to make some mounting brackets, and if I were you I'd mount them with more than just one bolt.

Yeah I noticed that factory hooks are held on by three bolts so I'll see if I can fab something up to fit like factory. I have plenty scrap metal laying around.

I do like the angle better than factory as well. Never understood why they put them pointing down but eh, they get the job done I suppose.

Hold the horses !!
Those hooks don't look up to the job especially as they have only one bold hole and I suspect they are tow hooks not recovery hooks

Probably better off just buying some shackles that are designed to bolt onto the factory tow hook position!

They are going to be coming off of a 2000 Yukon 5.7L z71.

But I'm looking for honest input so I don't waste my time so I do appreciate the concern. Like I said above, I'll fab a bracket to fit factory holes in the jeep. But if y'all don't think it'll hold up I won't continue. They aren't going to be for look, I DO! plan on using them if I get stuck.

From what you and the other guy said, that is probably what I'm going to do. I don't want a hook flying off mid recovery.

Look at saguaro recovery shackles
http://www.saguaro4xcomponents.com/i...products_id=48

If your able to fab up brackets ( the difficult part) you may be able to make complete recovery points and just buy shackles.

It's common to see tow equipment get mixed up with recovery equipment.
But tow points only has to move rolling weight.
Recovery is pulling a vehicle though mud and if snatch straps are used it can be 3 or 4 times the vehicles weight to break it free

You'll need at lease 3 bolts per side
If your making own brackets you can use another steel piece so your making a sandwich on chassis rail.
You might get some better ideas looking at how steel bumpers attach.

If you do make your own do a write up with. Photos.

I'll see what I can do but the safest bet would be to just buy some prefab mounts and I'll do some shackles rather than hooks. Looks better in my personal opinion.
