Lightbulb Your thoughts on the new 2005 GC?

Just wondering how you folks feel about the new 2005 GC. The specs are all over the net and I suspect that some if not most have already formed opinions.

I for one do not care for it's styling (looks too much like a Durango). Independant front suspension? Doesn't it make the new 05' Jeep like everyone else? Might as well get a Ford Explorer. Jeep is the ONLY company that is solely dedicated to true 4x4 vehicles (maybe Land Rover). Could this hurt Jeep? And since when did Jeep give an option of 4x2's?

Anyway, I guess the masses who purchase SUV's never take them off-road. I guess Jeep listened and developed an independant front suspension and offer 4x2 models.

I'm wanting to 'upgrade' to an Overland model, but if Jeep continues down this path, I'll be getting a Wrangler. Wranglers could be the last of the true 4x4's left.

Make mine a 'Ruby'!

longer...can actually fit adults into the back seat
relocated the fuel tank
relocated the spare from the rear storage to underneath the truck (where it belongs)
coil-over suspension
dumped the long overdue inline-6
rear-seat A/C

Dislikes:

detuned Hemi (why can't they just put the normal 345hp/375lb-ft) version in the jeeps?)
IFS (what a waste)
front styling
Mercedes transmission (which Jeep says is *ALL NEW DESIGN*, yet Mercedes has been using that tranny since 1995)
no more Selec-Trac

All good points Buddha, I guess I'll wait and see in depth reviews on it's perfomance once they become available.
