I'M GOING TO LOOK INTO THE KICK DOWN CABLE IF THERE IS ONE AFTER WORK.

KFXNANDO, I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP WITh THIS AND THIS MIGHT BE A DUMB QUESTION BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A EARTH CABLE

I'm also thinking TPS. Don't see how a slight loss in backpressure from a muffler or CAI could cause the trans not to downshift. I had both and the Jeep still shifted/downshifted fine.

Earth cable is what people (who aren't from America) call a ground wire.
