WJ Track Bar

I am installing an IRO 4'' Lift onto my WJ and was doing alright until we couldnt get the track bar off to put the new adjustable track bar on. Does anybody have any tips/advice for getting the track bar off?

Please help

What can't you get off? The bolts?

Once the two bolts are removed, just pry it out.

The axle end just has a bolt to remove (the nut is welded on the back side). The other side has a bolt & nut (so hold the nut to prevent it from spinning). On the frame side it is helpful to remove the bump stop to get to the bolt/nut easier. Using a couple large screw drivers and several curse words, pry the rubber pieces out. Once it is out, 2 bolts (13mm I think) hold the bump stop bracket in there. Remove it to make life easier. I find removing the tire on the drivers side to be nice to make access a lot better

i just took mine out to change bushings and unbolted, wiggled the steering wheel kinda hard and it literally fell out (almost) once i got the body side free its easier to wiggle the axle side loose.

Well we were taking it out to install the new adjustable track bar, the problem was that the bolts werent coming off. The drivers side bolt was easy to take off, just was hard to push through becuase of the bump stop and it got stuck. The passenger side bolt was a ton harder to get off; that was the one I really couldnt get off

Just spray the crap out of it with PB blaster and get a longer bar to go over the wrench so you can get some good torque on it. I just did mine a couple days ago and it took some serious pulling on the wrench.

Well I do have a 2wd wj, and still do a lot of off roading and absolutly love my jeep. And I was looking at the difference between the 4wd and mine, and it looks like a different mounting system for the track bar. Cam anyone maybe tell me the difference and why it's so hard to get it off?

There is absolutely no difference between the 2WD and the 4WD trackbar, mounting, etc. As a matter of fact the entire suspension is the same. Trust me I know I did the 4WD swap in my 2WD
