I have a feeling this is going to turn into a full rear bumper and not just the tire carrier. Good work so far.

I'm tempted. Very tempted. But ny tank already sits above the hitch, so the hitch takes any drops and protects the tank. Plus ibdont want to add all the weight. But this def lays a footprint for later down the road...

got an update. didn't get any work done last weekend bc i was busy getting new tires/rims and billy had family stuff. got the arm bent a little to clear the hatch. not much to do except the final mock-up and any adjustments we need to make. then weld 'er together and paint the hoer and it's gravy. no rim yet for the new spare, so it won't be mounted for jeep beach but that's fine bc i haven't gotten a license plate bracket and light together yet. finally got the front bumper back on the heep. can't wait to get the rear back on friday with my new carrier!

It was put together and mounted up without he swing arm and burned in. Then I noticed that once you out the arm on, you won't be able to open the trunk. And my buddy already welded and gussetted everything on the hitch so it's not coming off. Going to finish it and I think have someone notch the trunk lid bc that's the only way. It would take hours of grinding and cutting welds to move everything around again. It's not high on my list right now, but it'll get finished sooner or later

Just make sure you check trunk clearance before you really burn it in. We didn't. Now I have a rusty *** spindle sticking through a hole in my bumper
