WJ Ipod Integration help

i have been doing some searching across the forum and ive seen a couple of different options for ipod integration with the factory head unit. my problem is that they all utilize the CD changer. my 2000 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo has the infinity sound system but does not have the CD changer option. is there any hope for me in putting an ipod in my jeep? any input is appreciated greatly

cheaper, easier and better to just get a aftermarket radio. a ipod hookup one can be yours for about 130 bucks.

i had a few of the tape deck adapters and also the FM transmitters they didn't last long.... and i wanted to keep my factory unit and my steering wheel controls. i had a head unit in my old truck with ipod integration and it got me hooked.

there are radios that you can still use the steering wheel controls, they are just a tad bit more expensive. Cant have the best of both worlds. its like wanting big v8 hp/tq with a small electric motor, and cheap. lol

The factory mopar adaptor allows you to keep the CD changer. Its a great unit. I installed it on my 02 and its worked perfect for almost 2 years now. It is pricey but its the only way to keep the cd changer and integrate the ipod,

Figure out what model radio you have:

Then see if it's compatible with the Mopar unit (I also have it and it's worth the bucks).

my unit does not have a CD-C button on it and the jeep did not come with the changer therefore i would assume that any system that adapts to the changer input will not work for me.

Which radio do you have? The changer should just be able to bolt into an WJ provided the cable is there.

If you want to pay shipping, you can have my old stock infinity setup. I have this HU:

as well as the disc changer. I also got this: X3 Universal Triple Auxiliary Input Adapter
it plugs in between the HU and changer and gives you 3 audio in. everything worked well but i pulled it all when i installed a double din.

Do you have a link to the procedure and parts you used?

which ipod type and generation are you using with yours. I have found that my 1st gen 16 gb touch would get fouled up and the steering controls stop working after about a week.

I installed an iSimple TranzIt FM modulator a couple of years ago. Working fine. It plugs in series with the factory radio and antenna which is much better than FM transmitters I've tried in the past. You have a switch to select between the antenna or Ipod as the source. Then select a preprogrammed FM channel and your on.

I use a Monster brand Cassette adapter that is hooked into a 3.5 mm coupler hooked into a 3.5mm to dock connector. I love it and it was only like 30 bucks too.
