WJ axles?

I'm looking to do a complete axle swap. Does anyone have any suggestions on a doner veh. that may work for a swap? I want to rebuild them and add lockers so I was looking for any veh. that may work?!

I got a 1979 full size bronco for my axle swaps (HP44/9"). The WJ wms-wms is around 63.5" and the bronco is 65" wms-wms. The problem with the f-150 and bronco is the ford cast radius arms. I am just extending the ford arms to make things simple. With the tone rings going to be gone, a transfer case speedo needs to be used. Its not the best setup but it is some info.

If I could afford it I would go with JK rubicon 44s. You could tie into the JK tone rings for your speedo.

or something like this

If you wanted to only swap the rear you could swap in a WJ Dana 44, re-gear the front and also upgrade the entire Dana 30.

You didn't really add any info on what size tire you'd like to run or what you had in mind.

In the end I dont want a daily driver, so I am looking for a 35" tire to start with.

I was trying to do some research on 1 tons from all the forums; now...don't quote me on all of this being right but it's what I found (and I have no idea why I didn't find all of the years but you can simply check by searching on the internet for axle specs on the Fords and years). There is SOOOOO much information on axle swaps and axle information. My advice is take your time and find out what you really want to do first. Go here and just search and search, then search some more; www.mallcrawlin.com www.pirate4x4.com

Just from doing a 20 minute search I ended up with 79 pages worth of information to read and soak in. I'm not going to fill this thread up with that much stuff though...unless you want it. EDIT...180 pages worth.

WJ WMS-WMS= 63.5”
Ford 8.8” (Explorer) WMS-WMS=59.5”
Ford 9” F150 WMS-WMS= 65”
Ford 9” Bronco WMS-WMS=65.5”
1st Body Style Dodge Durango 9 ” WMS-WMS= 63”
Dana 44HP (Ford) WMS-WMS=67”

More Axle Info for Front Swap:
Dana 44HP 67’-77’ Ford F100-F150 2 piece radius arm mounts (cut off)
Dana 44HP 78’-79’ Ford Broncos-F150 Cast radius arm mounts
