WJ 2004 CRD 2.7 - Heavy Steering to Right

Hi Guys,

My Jeep has suddenly developed a bit of a problem. When stationary and turning the wheel full lock to the right, it feels like the power steering isn't working (very very heavy). The left is fine. Because of that I have ruled out the power steering pump - fluid seems to be moving freely. I have noticed that the Jeep has a steering dampner that closes when truning to the right and opens when turning to the left. Could this be the cause of the problem? Has anyone came across this type of fault before? Perhaps it's the Steering Box. I've checked to make sure nothing is interferring with mechanism itself (ie pipes, hoses etc.). Strange thing is, it seem to be ok when on the move, abeit with the occasional noise when turning right.

Anyone any thoughts?. Appreicate your time.

I'd pop the damper off and see if that fixes it.
