window is being weird... help!
so my front driver window is being funky. it will roll down no problem and roll up about 80% of the way then the regulator just kind of gives out. It will still shut all the way, and stay shut all the way if you give it some help. I looked at the seal on the outside and it is not pushing against the window. Could this be a bad regulator from water damage or is this some other gremlin?
Thanks
Tom

Yes, sounds like time for a new one. There are little plastic gears that eventually loose their teeth.

Not only do the motors loose teeth but he cable can bind up. I have has to replace my drivers side twice and passenger side three times. It's a rather easy install. I would do it before the cable. Binds and you can't roll your window up.

Also check what years interchange with yours you may be able to get one from a junk yard pretty cheap. I got one yesterday for about 12 bucks.

I got mine from bummer to bumper for 70 dollars that's a whole new regulator, cable, and track.. I don't advise getting one from the junk yard since it's such a common problem on WJs. Just stick with a new one it's a fairly easy fix.

It is def a common problem. But for as many as I have gone thru if this one lasts me a month for the price I paid I will be happy. This is what you would need to get btw.

oh, I already had issues with the regulator in the spring actually. Pulled it out and the plastic clip was broken so I swapped the plastic clips so it would be positive going up and had to recoil the cable, so I imagine something is probably busted in there. Was just curious because it still functions but the motor sounds like it is getting tired and slows to fail. figured these motors were either an on or off type thing
