Will 255/70R16 fit stock WJ?

I have 225/75 on my '04 and when I get new tires, I want something that looks better and wider...I put 245/70's on my '01 WJ and they look good but I am wondering if the 255's will also fit?

No lift planned at this time because that is what my ZJ is for, but eventually I might do a BB on the '04...for now though, let's assume no lift because that is what it is.

I *think* with the 255/70, you would be alright for the most part, but probably rub some when turning or braking (depending on quality of suspension I suppose)

Im rolling on 245/70s completely stock, and they have absolutely no tire rub, though when turned to lock, there isnt much extra room

I had the 225/75 on there, and I agree, they gotta go the 245 is noticeably wider than the wheel its mounted on (16x7 silverblade for me), and stands out a lot more than that 225 did on the same wheel.

Just got 255/70/26 GY Wrangler Duratracs on 16x8 wheels. I have a 2" BB. . The rear is no problem, The front rubs when I turn the wheel to the right. Only happens when I try to turn the wheel all the way like pulling in and out of tight parking spots. Its very minimal rub I might just deal with it and not cut the bumper. So I'm not sure about stock but you might get away with it or have to trim.

Is it a Laredo? I assume with the 16" wheels? That makes it a 30.5" tire. Assuming I'm right in you wheels, that will fit, JUST barely.

I put on some 245/70's (but on 17" wheels), they are also 30.5" tires. They fit with a pretty extreme tread pattern. I have some very minor (size of a quarter in the splash guards) rubbing, but that should subside soon.

I would imagine your proposal would be similar to what I did, but ymmv.

well I'll have to think about it...the 245/70 looks pretty good on the '01 but I know some people do the 255/70 on ZJ's that are stock and I think they look awesome...decisions, decisions
