What would be a good price to pay for this Overland?

http://memphis.craigslist.org/ctd/4181466438.html

I'm looking for an '00-04 with V8 and AWD. Not too picky on trim level but this popped up today. I hate buying from dealers. What would be a good price if I could pick it up? THANKS.

If it's mint with no issues, I'd say that's about the average dealer price. Would I pay that? Probably not. You might be able to talk them down with that nice dent in the rear bumper. I paid 5k for my 04' Overland. No issues.

I paid a tad less than that for my Overland back in February, but it was fully loaded with Nav, completely mint condition and only had 65k miles w/ one owner. Mine was at a Hyundai dealer, not a random side of the road dealer.

I'd say $8500 at the most for that.

Did you check Autotrader.com? I searched a 100 miles out of zipcode 38301:

agreed! If I found one for thag price with that little of damage id snatch it right up. However at 100k you will probably have a few parts wearing out in the next 20k. Still totally worth it!

Having bought an overland for 15k with 40k miles and it now has 85k. I would pay about 5k for that. These cars nickel and dime you to death.

I wouldn't pay that price for it. That's bit too much. $8000 would be the most I'm willing to pay

As I'm sure you have read, it's not just the physical appearance. Have you asked about maintenance records? Yes, these are great vehicles but the unknown in the "used" world can sour your romance with it. I know in my case, during my 7 months of ownership of my current WJ, I have replaced more parts and done more maintenance than I have on all of my vehicles combined for 5 years. (In my case many items were and have been replaced as preventative maintenance as I did not have any prior maintenance history. )

That being said, I love my 02 Overland!

Do you have to have an 04?

You will eat the depreciation and it will be worth a few grand in 3 years or so.

Why not find a good condition 99-01 with similar miles for half that?
