What are the wires that run under the carpet behind the transmission tunnel for?

Hello all. I'm currently in the process of tearing apart a rotted 99 WJ. I have most of the wiring harness out and most of it was pretty clear what it was for but now I've come across some mystery wires. One wire runs under the carpet and then through a grommet in the floor out of the passenger compartment and another plugs in next to the brake cable. I've attached a picture. What do these wires do?

Grommets in the floor (not pictured, they are up higher) are ABS sensors. The grommet you see is for the fuel associated things near the gas tank.
