All 17" rims are 7.5" wide, so I would say anything up to a 12.5" wide tire will fit safely (look at all the people runnign 12.5" wide tires on 17" moabs). Once you go wider than stock, however, you will rub on the rear shocks and possibly the control arms so you might want to get some wheel spacers.

I have an 04 Jeep GC also and was wondering if tire size 255/60-17 would fit on the stock 7.5" rims?

Thanks!

Yes, they will fit on the wheels.

I'm running 255/75/17's...with a 3" lift.

Can I fit 255/75/17 on my stock 2004 WJ Overland? Or will this not work without a lift...

MrPlaya - Those are 32s, and won't fit without a lift.

for the last time, theres a faq section that will answer all these questions, but i will be nice and tell ya... 30" dia tires are safe, 30.5 will rub pretty bad. the 30s will too, but trimming will cure that. buy a BB, and run real tires...
