Please, you are not going to get a noticeable performance increase just by going with a louder muffler (although you may feel faster because it's so loud). The drone when you are driving on the highway will make you crazy. Get the 50 series, it sounds good and won't annoy you like the 40 series.

In fact you might get less (or at least move it further up the rev range where you don't need it in an off roader) if you choose one with too little back pressure!

To all you guys who say the 40 series is too loud are old men. I have a straight pipe and the drone isn't bad at all.

The sound level isn't annoying at all my mom hates loud mufflers but it doesn't bother her at all we regularly take it on 4+ hour trips as it is way more roomy than her nissan

Drone is pretty bad on a Super 40 from about 1800-2200 RPM. But on the positive side it sounds mean when you step on it and has a great scavenging sound on deceleration. I get a lot of guys in Dodge trucks asking what exhaust I'm running so I guess that's a good thing.

I guess I'm in the minority here. I have a 50 and actually don't like it all that much. I suspect it is because the stock 2.5 tubing that I am unhappy with the sound so I hope to replace it all with a 3" system and then get a deeper sound.
