Its relatively cheap... mine only goes maybe 30 miles in any direction... its all you need on the trail.
I was racing the sun off a trail last year because I thought I was the last one out. Bad choice led to being high centered on my transmission pan. If I would have known there was a group behind me I wouldn't have tried to rush. Also running a trail last year with my brother in his two inch lifted wj... he took a left over a a cattle gaurd, I went around it. There was a two foot drop on the far side of the cattle gaurd that twisted his xmember pretty bad. Nothing he couldn't drive away with but it did stress his trasfer case more than would be optimal...

Being able to talk via CB radio would have helped in both cases

ill start looking into cb's they sound like a great investment.

Also, i saw this.
It says it works on all jeeps.

Can i just mount it strait to the bracket points on the front of the WJ or do i need a special bracket

those will not directly bolt up. get some WJ hooks from a member here or a junkyard. otherwise your gonna have to fab something up. the other options are the S4x4 shackles, or a custom bumper.

That is just a universal tow hook. You could mount it in the same location but would have to drill and you would need a backing plate or it will just rip out 1st time you use it.

You really are better off with either an OEM tow hook set, the rusty's WJ tow hook set, or Saguaro shackle mounts. all of which cost more but are much safer.

OEM set

Talk to Kris from Fawkes Offroad. I bought some D-ring shackle mounts from him and I love it.
