IMO hifonics overrates their amps. Like a Sony 1000w I got from Walmart lol Only pushed about 350w lol I know for fact the kicker 1000w is underrated (last sheet I saw showed 1046w) But I know the brutus still pounds. My buddy has a 2000w power akoustik on 2 15" kickers rated at 300w a piece and it doesn't over power them at all. But if I was going w/ L7s I would spend the few extra dollars for the kicker amp. It will sound just as good if not better. Those cheap class d amps really drain the electrical system. Just my .02 which ever way you go you will be loud as ****!

Finally got around to swapping in the 242HD.

Wont bore everyone with details since TC swaps have been covered on here in detail.

Took about 4 hours to swap it including lunch. Had to swap out the input shafts which took about an hour. Everything looked good. Hardly anything on the magnets so that was good.

Had to swap out the studs from the LD to the HD that mount the TC because the HD were longer and you couldnt get a couple of the nuts on after you installed it.

Rebuilt the V8 drive shaft with greasable joints, wire wheeled it down and painted. It fit perfect after the TC was installed. Took it out for a spin when I was done. Got it up to 80 on the freeway with no vibes. Then to a field and ran it in all the TC selections and worked fine.

Here are some pics.

The TC's. You can see the longer input shaft on the V8 TC (the clean one on the left)

Tearing down

All put back together with input shafts swapped

Installed

Old 242LD with V8 shaft installed

I used crappy Turtle Wax Headlight restorer that only removed about 205 of the oxidation. :-(
I just picked up my WJ today though so that made me happy.

Use the sylvania headlight restore kit work amazing on head lights. They sent my company one and my manager gave it to me. If u follow the directions n take ur time they come out crystal clear as if they were brand new. Try it ull be impressed.

Aimed my new projectors with 4300k hids. Still working on getting the halos wired up. Mine are not CCFL and I want to figure a way to convert them over or get led rings.
