It's never good to have too high or too low oil pressure. I believe in 2003 Jeep switched over to "dummy" oil pressure gauge that don't measure the actual oil pressure at the moment. Look at any GC pre-2003 and under WOT the gauge needle would rise, indicating higher pressure since the engine is working hard. However, on my 2004 the needle sits at a little over halfway all day, never moving, even at WOT. So if your needle sits at 3/4 at idle, there is either something wrong with your engine or the sending unit.

Mine is a 02 HO V8, so that is reading my true oil pressure? Sounds like I'm ordering a new sending unit :/

I think so. Like i said im not too sure about the year but i know it was around 2003. Start with a new sending unit, if it still reads the same then you may have an internal problem

any suggestion to which brands may work better/more reliably than others for the oil pressure sending unit? RockAuto has 4 of them listed for less than $40...advance and oreilly are about $45

If you want it fixed once and for all buy only a Mopar replacement. Any other brand and you're taking a risk. Order it from Kolak, he's cheaper than a dealership

Bought my beach pass for assateague Maryland.
Had some fun with the girlfriend! Keep handled so well I even let her drive on the beach haha...boy was that a scary experience...handing the reins of my baby to another person. Idk how some of you fellas let your wives/girlfriends drive your rigs on serious trails.

Yesterday I got the windows fixed. It was the ground wire in the driver door jam. It had the smallest amount of damage done to the insulation that didn't even go through it seemed to the actual wire. But I cut it out anyway and resoldered a new connection and it is back to 100%

^That little spot on the ground wire was the culprit.

Today I just picked up a minty fresh set of jk moabs. They literally have less than 100 miles on them. Now it's time to wait for the lift kit to arrive.

Make sure you go on the beach before 9 am or after 6 otherwise you'll have a 2+ hour wait to get on the beach
