AC went out last week, come to find out it was the blower motor resistor plug. The symptom was that the blower motor would stop working. Essentially when the AC was running, the blower motor would stop but you could still feel cold air through the vents. If you shut off the air for a little while and turn it back on, it would work for a few minutes then shut off again.

Being frustrated, I decided to try and diagnose the issue on my own. Started by checking all the relays and fuses. Everything looked good there. After doing a lot of thread reading on teh interwebs I started to see a lot of issues with the blower motor resistor being a common issue related to the blower motor. After further inspection this is what I found

The plug was toast and after doing some looking around online I found a repair kit herehttp://www.carpartsdiscount.com/auto...ml?3593=246873

Took about an hour to fix. Definitely easier to remove the glove box to access the three wires that you'll have to splice into. Everything is back together and the AC is working. *knock on wood* Hopefully this will fix the problem the new plug looks to be made of a thicker plastic, hopefully it will resist the heat and not melt as easy. Luckily the blower motor resistor was in good shape and didn't need to be replaced.

Also UPS dropped off my AFE Stage 2 ( AFE part# 51-10162)intake yesterday, should have it installed here once the sun goes down and I'll let the motor cools off a bit( and a few beers should help too ).

I drove her home from the dealership. It took forever to find a 4.7 H.O. with low miles, only 80,000. What a change from my old XJ!

Thanks guys! Now I need to find a tow package and skid plates/recovery hooks from a donor WJ. I requested my build sheet a few minutes ago. Ill order some new coil isolators and I'm leaning towards some 245-70-17 tires for now since they will fit in the spare area. I wonder if a Duratrac in that size will fit in the spare area? I may have to settle on a less aggresive tire until I can afford the kolak or IRO lift.

My 245-70-17 Duratracs fit into the spare area just fine. The cover sits up about a half an inch, so it isn't totally flush with the floor, but it is fine for me. The diameter of the tire is definitely the largest that'll fit in the spare well though.

Intake done! Went together pretty easy! One of the easiest mods I've done so far! From start to finish and applying the stickers took about 25min! Including the removal of the stock intake! Took it for a test run and smoked and took the doors off an F150!

Thats great news WyoWJ! I love the duratrac. It seems like the best fit for a summer fun and winter snowboarding tire.
Dang Pinky the sahara rims are a nice find. They are 18's but will be a sick winter and daily driver rim. You could powder coat them like the ones you have now.
The JK really opens a lot of rim choices for WJ owners.

Any reason for AFE over K&N? I'm in the market and was wondering your opinion

I'm wondering the same thing. I know K&N filters are crap, so do you have any proof/experience that AFE filters are better?
