I also used 3/16" steel on everything, but changed it up a little and notched my pinch welds for the frame supports to go through, so I could keep the rails tucked up just a little higher... 7 5/16"bolts through the pinch weld on each side, and 8 3/8" bolts on the frame. I used Rustoleum truck bed liner to paint them...

I'm more than happy with them, even jacked up the car last night with them and no problems... Slowly this is becoming something more trail capable.. The dirty foot prints are from my 225# jumping up and down on them for fun :-)
you wanna build me some? please.. I even have the exact same jeep! same year, color and model!

A small project for a cold winter day. I got tired of looking at my faded needles so I decided to spruce up the cluster a bit. One orange sharpie and silver paint pen later and it now looks like a much nicer cluster that would be found in a newer KJ or WK.

Attempted to do the fuel filter last night...got the two easy clips off but not the third one that people use a 10mm wrench to pop off. Its the clip that you have to press the plastic collar into the fuel line then pull it out. Any tips for getting this last sucker off? Tried some penetrating oil as well

There's some other threads on here describing tricks for removal that would help- I may have also seen some on JU. something about poking a wire into the plastic collar.

yup i used wrench and held it in my right hand. push the line inward towards the filter then counter that with the wrench and back the line off the filter.
So frustrating the first time you do it. now i could do all three in a minute easy

I used a 9 and 10mm open end wrench, and while trying to push the line towards the filter, I was trying to press the wrench into the line. Did you do this unbolted or bolted together thisguyhasadd2? I think part of the black collar also broke off, wonder if there are replacement collars?

by bolted or unbolted, i assume you mean the filter to the body? yes the filter was disconnected from the body so i could maneuver it better, i slightly cracked mine but i think i got lucky that i haven't had any leakage.

Yes it is a frozen waterfall. It was 12 degrees while I was there. It snowed like half an inch.
