arfunin that blows man took that route when i did my front crank seal... not fun.
I wish the underbelly of mine was that clean. I went to take off my overland rock sliders and broke every bolt... what a pain in the ***, even with no bolt heads the thing is sturdy as hell. What works better than an easy out? I broke a few drill bits trying to use an extractor???
What's a hummer 6 pinion? Lookin to go to a 242 too. Is a diff output shaft or something?
Hummer also uses the 242 case but with the 6 pinion planetary and it will fit in the jeep 242HD case which brings the output torque up to 2340ft-lbs. as where the 02-03, 242HD has 2028ft-lbs.
I bought a rebuilt 242HD from transfercases.com and they installed the 6 pinion planetary, it has to be done right or the gears might wine Anyhow I figure with the 4.7L H.O. it can't hurt because I'm pushing around 300HP now and plan on increasing the horse power later on.
You probably already knew this but you also need the bigger HD 32 spline slip yoke drive shaft which comes with the 02-03 jeep 242HD case instead of the 27 spline you have now.
Washed and detailed the jeep. Also started to plan my execution of my undercarriage sand and painting. Im thinking wednesday or thursday its supposed to get into the 60s and thats a perfect time to sand primer and paint.
