Water is ingested into the motor through your intake, causing it to lock up and not start until..... you pull plugs out and turn over by hand if your lucky, could always put in some pb blaster, that helps out sometimes, or diesel fuel.. but dont recommend diesel fuel unless you have too, and it takes a lot to break the motor loose.

Hydro lock is when you suck in a large amount of water in the intake. Water does not compress so it stalls the engine. It can cause serious damage. See this Wikipedia on it. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrolock

Yeah liquids do not compress like gasses.

The post above pretty well answer your question. If your engine hydro locks, and stalls, the damage to the engine may already done. However, the worse thing you can do it try to start an engine that has stalled while in water, right after you have been in water, or if there is any chance at all that you might have gotten water in the airbox. Reason being, water doen't compress, and you turning that key makes the engine try to do the impossible.... something is going to give, and it will be the internal parts in your engine that are the weak link.

Best thing to do is let someone pull you out, remove all the spark plugs, then turn engine over by hand to slowly let water escape thru spark plug holes and where ever, without causing any or more damage to the engine.

Looks like you have a mixture between a 4" zone lift and a rough country 4" lift?

Today: plugs, front diff fluid. I got the car with 94k, it now has 101k and I decided that, not knowing when anything had last been done, I'd better get on it. The front diff fluid came out amber-colored and fairly clear, nothing stuck on the magnet, and everything looked pristine. The spark plugs were pretty nasty though, even though it was plain they'd been changed at least once (champion plugs, not mopar).

Tomorrow: rear diff fluid, oil change. Beats hanging out indoors with family!

Installed new front shocks. They only took 11 weeks to get here.
