If you cut enough you can run 35s with 4" of lift. Fenders can be opened up a lot on these with a cutoff wheel and a BFH. Then you will have 1.5" more clearance where it counts the most under axle. I would rather have a 4" lift, a lot of cutting and 35" tires vs running a 6" lift with 32-33s and no trimming at all. Tree stumps, rocks, and 12" deep ruts do not care if your bumper is 30" in the air if your axles are only 8" off the ground. Not sure why anyone is scared to cut their 8-12 year old jeep up. I cut my pinch welds and bumper on my brand new WK2 when it was 2 months old and I do not feel bad about it at all because it looks bad *** with 33x12.50x18s.

Those will work for sure. I would stay with the smaller wheels if you can. I ditched my 17s to go with 15s for a variety of reasons. Same with my WK2 I took off the 20s and put the smallest wheels I could which are 18 x 9.5s (HD brakes with the V8) LOL. I would not run 18s on the WJ unless I was running a 37-38" tire.

Larger tires might rub control arms...

When I had borrowed Blazepsi stock JK wheels, after I had sold him mine, his wheels rubbed my control arms; I was t 4.75 (front) and 4" rear.

Stock bs-ing def won't do. I had 31" a/t's and they were practically rubbing. The spacers will noticeably push your wheels out from the shocks

Just bought a used 99 WJ 4.0 with 115K on the engine. Changed the oil, new plugs, new air filter, new fan belt. Lots of cleaning. Heading to Napa later this afternoon for new headlight bulbs, fuel filter, a can of throttle body cleaner, transmission filter and fluids, transfer case fluid, and fluid for my pumpkins. Can you think of anything else you'd do for general maintenance?

Next step, saving up for a Iron Rock Offroad 4.5" lift and some 33's

Do you have the full time transfer case and the Quadra drive system with vari loc axles? If so you will want to do a little research on what are the correct fluid to use and if you need a friction modifier or not. My 2000 WJ has 166k plus on the clock, with care, that 4.0L is good for 300k.

And if your jeep has quadratrac or quadradrive don't listen to anybody at the auto stores you can NOT put transmission fluid in the transfer case. The only over the counter place to get the right fluid is at the dealership
