Took my WJ wheeling for the first time .. So much more confident in my jeep than I was before taking it on these trails. I went out with a bunch of wranglers and made it through the woods just fine on my 2" BB and stock shocks.

Only things to break was a high pressure hose for my PS pump, a CV-joint and some washington state pin striping. It was a blast.

I didn't get a chance to take any pics of my rig, but I have video that i'm currently working on.

Last couple of weekends:

Finally got around to replacing the rusty oil pan. Almost got it off without destroying the gasket. Almost. Ordered another from Rock Auto and continued the next weekend. Got lucky the weather has been dry and mild on the weekends.

Got to wiggle all my rod caps and to my delight there is no slop, only the slightest of side to side play but none up and down. Kinda dirty, but no sludging or crud at the oil pump pick up.

Local dealers told me the Y-pipe nuts are no longer available. Bought some grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers at Lowes. I welded 2 washers overlapped, ground out the middle and welded the nut to it, creating the tab type nut. Ugly but worked great.

Sorry no pics, but yes , it DID happen. lol.

Starter went bad after that, but the swap out was easy since I just did it as part of the oil pan job.

Oil changes on both! Hit the Pep Boys black Friday sale.

Changed the oil. Aggregated the wife by doing it in the parking lot (not supposed to cause its in our lease....stupid) and cleaned the intake. I forgot to seafoam though. Does anybody think it would make that much of a difference? Or should I be sure to do it next time?

And started looking for tires. Duratracs or silent armor?

If you do much off roading, I'd go Dura Tracs, If snow is of concern and moderate off roading, Silent Armours. I have two sets of Silent Armours, one on my wife's GC, and one on my Excursion. The set on my Excursion has over 80,000 miles and have been THE best winter tire I have ever owned. Getting 80,000 miles on a heavy truck is a bonus! Just my opinion!

Passing this inspection isn't hard... they will spend more time looking at the VIN then comparing it to your paperwork than they will on rest of the vehicle. I doubt that they even look at your license plate light.
