Picked up a 242 J Transfercase to replace my 247. Only 50k km's on the new Tcase so it should be a nice upgrade. And the drain screw wont be stripped anymore! Lol. I had to weld a bolt into my previous Tcase drain screw to be able to drain my fluid previously. It will be nice to have it fixed.
Hopefully that gets rid of my front driveshaft vibration once and for all. I wont be swapping it for a few weeks tho. Still gotta find a 242 rear driveshaft.
took it to Warwick to do some applepicking with the family. first time it got dirty but I felt like super suburbanite with my stock WJ mixed in with everyones Exploders, Acadia's, X5s, and the slew of new SUVs out there...haha. i miss turning disgusted heads with my loud lifted ZJ. but until she gets roadworthy again I'll have to ride in style...lol
my kid had her first tailgating experience though! we put her in the trunk with her car seat while we fed her her lunch...haha
honestly, i dont think so. lakailimited made his custom bumper and he said it was under 100lbs, around 75 or so, yet he sagged 1/4"..he threw a spacer on it to level it out again though
Hmm... My front bumper with winch is 180lbs and rear is ~150 I think. If I'm going to net the same lift out of an IRO kit and an OME coil+bilstein deal I'd hands down go with OME because of their reputation for the best ride, thats all I'm worried about

Changed diff oil in front and rear with mopar oil and a bottle of friction additive in each. After driving it around, all the binding i was getting is gone. Gotta love previous owners knowing nothing about their jeeps or what fluid it needs.

I don't care lol do I at least get credit for effort despite the failure?
Yes you get lots of credit.. especially if you convince your bf to buy you some hella's because he dropped yours and now they dont work right... lol
And double credit because your post prompted other members to post wire diagrams and such.. Just what I needed to know to install my hella 500 Black Magic's which have been sitting in the box for about a month now ..
I would have just hard wired them to the battery and switch... not using relay or ignition on/off or the factory fuse block...
And I concider myself good with wireing... also gotta install my MB quart front door speakers (also sitting in a box), Already did the rear doors
