yesterday went for inspection and said i need new rear pads, inside are worn and outside are like new. they were change 2 to 3 years back and only have a bit over 16K on so i said i want to do it myself to figure out wants going on back there.
go to autozone and get a set of pads and rotors and start working on the jeep at 8pm with a flashlight. change the pads on both sides and left the rotors since they are still good on both side. caliber was good on both sides but the sliding pins were dry so gresed them up and should be good. there should be wear indicators on teh rear pads.

spent $23 on pads and saved $52 by doing it by myself so it paid for my jack. got to use my new tools lol

passed ny auto inspection today

I nervously was shaking on the ratchet and extensions trying to get it free without over tightening the plugs. All good though it appears. Also--those back plugs are ridiculous. Not impossible by any means, but my god, who thought that placement was acceptable?
Congrats!!

I usually put a little dielectric silicone grease on the socket so it pulls off easier.

I usually use the spark plug socket (one with rubber piece in it) to start the thread and then remove it and use the regular deep socket plug to tighten it down, then I don't have a problem with the socket getting stuck on the plug.

Also for those far ones on the 4.7 if you use a swivel for the socket makes it a hell of a lot easier than trying to reach back there.

Where did you get that good bad ugly sticker? I like it.

Just been driving it mostly trying to find the time to get the rest of my quad mod parts so I can do it. Planning a tune up in the neat future....plugs, air filter, oil change, diff fluids and tcase fluid, flush and fill block and radiator. Need to get more mpg's and wouldn't hurt to lower the temp a little bit so maybe a slightly lower temp t-stat.

Very jealous of that. I would be happy to just get a 242 for $300.

My WJ has been sitting for the past week. Waiting on tie rod ends.

Also needs new shocks and control arm bushings. Strongly considering just going up to 4" long arms.

Just Empty Every Pocket is right on.... but I love that Jeep.

Took my stock jeep out and did some hillclimbs and thrashed through some mud. Dented my pasenget side door on the bottom. You can shut it and it's sealed just funny looking. Got home and saw my transmition was leaking. So it's In the shop. I got it 2 weeks ago
