Tacked together a bit more of my prototype swing out tyre carrier. This is just to confirm final positions for everthing. Bottom is the bolted and welded mount to be bolted to my UK style hitch, far right will be 3 bearing twin shear pivit point, top centre will be where wheel plate is mounted (will be slightly off centre for clearance reasons), long bar to left (still to be braced) will be number plate mount and will be fitted with a yamaha R1 plate light. Over hang to bottom left of main upright will be where one of two over centre clamps (180kg max load each!)will mount. Step just above that is the 90* bend that goes in over bumper to keep wheel close to car as poss. Bolted it to car today and for a mock up it all fitted great. Even just tacked together it was solid and i could stand on far end of "gate" when fully opened with no probs so wheel weight should be no probs when I properly fab the carrier. Bottom two bars will be cut, notched, bent and welded to follow contours of bumper. Sized it to take about a 32.5 inch tyre ...more than I will ever need ! Happy so far.

Would those fit stock wheels?

If not what would be a good equivalent for stock wheels?

Thanks

You know that feeling.. when you're in the gym and you've been working so hard to get results and you feel good about yourself on progress only to have an even greater specimen walk past you and you see their results??? Yea, that was me today... Any one know this guy?

It was yesterday but I finally got that tundra out of a mud pit after 4 days. Had to call another TJ cause he had a 10,000 lb winch. After about an hour and half the tundra was out and super muddy. A JK, two TJs, and my WJ were all present at this event, but since I had the most power and was heaviest I hooked in to the winch TJ for an anchor point. It was something else but felt good to help out.
