You mean the cladding? Just sone dawn dish soap. I used duplicolor trim paint to paint mine. It sucks dont use it. It came off all the time. Im going to repaint it with krylon fusion, and going to do something a little different.

Also OT I gave her the seafoam treatment today.

does the dawn dish soap actually make it stay the original color tho. Because everything I use just fades away

What do you mean? Like the pain after you paint it? My blacks a solid nice black and stayed black. But it scuffs off too easily,

Exactly my plan. I have it sanded ready for paint. But I need to find someone to do brackets for me. I can no longer get them thru the manufacturer

OT I gave her the seafoam treatment today. Hopefully she will run better.

I looked on my 2004 4.7 and I'm not really sure. It's also dark outside and was using my cell phone led to see. Can you see where the hose I circled in red (with the silver looking band) goes? That hose is at the very top left of your first image. On mine, it connects in the back via the rubber connector piece back there to a black hose going behind the engine. I wonder if those are connected on yours?

I can take a better look tomorrow if it's not it.

Good luck,
-Rob
