Changed both front and rear diff oil. I have the parts for the T-case, but the two bolts under the driver door securing the skid plate won't come out, they spin... looks like the inserts that were welded in to the "Frame rail" broke loose. I'm hoping I can get a shop to cut them off for me, and put a self tapper in there. Any ideas?

Flashed back to stock from the superchips. I put it on right away when I bought the dub so I never really got to know the natural H.O to well lol.

Also debating finding some 16" wheels and putting the Duratracs on it from the zj and getting some 32's for that.

Ordered a bunch of stuff for the WJ: IRO adjustable track bar from Kolak, front 3/4" leveling spring spacers, and a GPS antenna for the RB1. On tap for later this week, ordering the 265/70R17 General Grabber AT2's and putting them on the 17" JK rims I have, and ordering Bilsteins from Kolak. Going to be exciting times for the Jeep Family Truckster!

By the end of next week, I'll have my WJ's original 16" wheels free, if you're interested. They are in good shape. Just PM me, if you like.

Thanks for the offer Jerry but you're quite a bit of distance away. Shipping would probably come out to more than I can get a set locally for. I appreciate it though.

What antenna is that? How well did it tune on the corner? I had trouble with a corner mount below the taillight.

The antennae is from Walcott CB P/N- MS48. I wasn't able to tune it yet, I have 3 meters and can't find ONE of my stinking jumpers to hook up... Hopefully I'll get a chance to dig one up and get it done soon... I'll keep you posted

What type of equipment(antennae,cable,mount,etc..) were you using??

How close were you able to get it dialed in?

It was a stainless 102" whip with spring on a DIY mount using Mini-8 cable. I was tuning with an analyzer and not a simple SWR meter. It kept showing the antenna as being short. As a test and temporary fix I made an extension from copper pipe with caps and bolts soldered to each end to make the antenna around 15" longer. It worked. The body was canceling out the bottom portion of the antenna. I finally bit the bullet, drilled, and installed a mount through the roof. The current antenna is a Sirio Performer 5000. It's on the money. Reactance is near 0, resistance is in the high 30s/low 40s, and SWR is 1.2-1.4

I also have a 2 meter antenna installed in the same manner up front.

Sounds like you got it set-up nice now. Do you think it was the whip causing the issues or were you able to pinpoint the culprit? I know of others using 4' firesticks that have been able to get some pretty respectable numbers mounted in the same location/method so I'm hoping for the best.

Got a lot done today. It's been slowww going, not fun but rewarding just the same. Not shown in these photos is the pinstripping and logos that I removed using a utility razor. There were gouge marks and scratches left as a result but those will be covered. I sprayed WD40 on the remaining glue and left it for 3 minutes before using firm pressure to wipe off.

From clear coat on the hood, roof, and rear hatch peeling like this below I really had my work cut out for me.

https://app.box.com/s/mr5oshfpyb1c2bwcqce0

Both roof rails removed, rust sanded and primed, and rack attach points taped over to keep rain out before turned in for the project.

https://app.box.com/s/7zu26l6rxid5eujss0b1

At this point the hood was fully stripped and sanded smooth followed by gray primer, but I found some dented / low spots towards the front that required filling so I did them next. It's drying now so, more pictures of progress tomorrow.

Tomorrow, the remainder of the Grand Cherokee logo on each front door plus glue, and then the back hatch area.
