Been watching the dreaded rust at the rear passenger doors grow for a year. So last night I investigated it. Found out that someone had already patched small holes that have now grown... Talked to Darrick at IRO and was suggested to get some steel and cut out the tin rockers and weld in some angle or tube steel in its place. Weekend project here I come! Pics once I get into it.

Check your CV joints. Make sure the boots are not broken.
Check the CV on your drive shaft as well.

Just made some tow hook brackets with some scrap steel for some hooks i bought off amazon. I made these things hefty, cause ive seen too many pics of bent brackets of the wj oem tow hooks and rusty's tow hooks. Hopefully these will stand up to anything.

What do yall think? I'll post a write up when i'm done.

Well done! Many people on here have a hard-on for flaming home made stuff. Especially recovery gear but I can see that those are clearly 5x better than the factory hooks and brackets. I think many people have never actually looked at their tow hook brackets. Thin Junk! If Mopar made stuff is so superior to homemade, why are you in your driveway fixing your Blend Doors? I also made my own brackets for a brush guard that I'm gonna mount pretty much the same hooks on. What was the bolt spacing on those hooks?

On topic I picked up a set of front and cargo WeatherTech floor mats off Craigslist. $65!! Never realized but the cargo mats come with the factory floor tie down locations outlined in the rubber. 30 sec with a razor blade and I've got all my gear neatly and securely tied down.

One of the reasons I've wanted the cargo mat is I have my 255/70/17 Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 aired down and crammed in the spare tire well. Despite my best efforts the lid still sits up about an inch at the rear edge by the hatch. This cover hides it nicely. Clean!!
