Finally got a chance to get under it since I bought it to realize it has the gas tank skid, but no transfer case skid. Tow hooks were removed too. I don't understand people that buy a jeep and take off stuff like that. The PO of my niner removed them too.

Replace those breathers on the valvle cover when doing the gasket, one is a CCV elbow and I think the other is a PCV. use the search on here there is HUGE thread about CCV elbow replacement it include the correct P/N's for each part. IIRC they are both 5 bucks.......
Good looking out. I was user te impression only the 4.7 had a PCV valve. But it makes sense to change those also.

Almost like mine! $50 for (4) 35-12.5-17 Toyo open country m/t. They didn't have a lot of tread, but for needing tires to match my jeep when I lifted the dub, it was a great deal. It was like 6 months ago and I'm still driving on them. Best $50 ever spent

Picked up the rest of the paint for the rims. Gave them a good degreasing to start with. Once I get them off will finish the cleaning process before painting. Hopefully tomorrow is nice enough to get everything done. Today was a waste. Did by beer and food though!

Nice! Wish I could find a good deal like that for tires for my rogues. Then I'd switch to them.

Replaced water pump and clutch fan this morning. Also welded up the exhaust leak that has been driving me nuts. Felt like a productive morning.

What paint you going with?

Well, since I have the taupe colour, the usual rim colour I like so much just looks like ***. Too much same colouration and no contrast. To go black, the actual wheel paint is matte black, which I don't like with it, and high gloss I'm not a fan of. SOOOOOooooo I've settled on a low gloss black. It's actually an engine enamel, but was talking to someone who used the same type of paint with success. We'll see how it goes.

Found this place as well while screwing around on kijiji looking for tires. http://custompowdercoatings.ca/ Will have to talk to them. Maybe worth getting the rogues done there, since I don't want the chrome, and the chrome cladding is coming off. Will have to talk to them and see. I don't want chrome, but what colour? Maybe a nice blue/black would look nice if they can do it.

For todays project? Comtemplating tomorrow hoping it's nice weather, and drinking beer and having wings and potato skins.

To do your axle seals, you'll also need to get bearings (as I imagine you don't have a press, and to get them on you need some good pipe, a decent hammer and some good aim) because you're gonna have to cut the old bearing and the bearing collar off the axle, I used a wizard and it worked fine. You should also drain the diff and replace the oil/gasket since you blew a seal, and in order to get the axle out you'll need a slide hammer. PM me if you have any questions, I'd be glad to help!

After driving around a bunch today I realized I really dislike the fake chrome clad wheels. Now I'm on the hunt for some JK 17" takeoffs.
