Nope, Feds don't have laws on it they persuade the states to have them with funding, not trying to be an *** but we just got done checking all federal and North Dakota state laws on emissions and safety (building a rat rod)

"legally". Doesn't mean you can't; and doesn't mean I won't haha. And what inspection are you talking about? Smog is all I've ever gotten inspected for, and I thought they only check for power train mods and CEL

I hope you are ok. I'll bet your neck will be sore tomorrow. That's a real bummer. The law in Ohio, in the US, is the person who rear ends you is at fault. Failure to maintain assured clear distance.

I feel your pain. Been there myself with the ZJ I lost. I wanted to kill the bastard!

Hopefully you can keep a lot of things you've added and move it to another one!

Best of luck.

Used to be like that here, but now it's not always the case. All depends. Too many scammers causing collisions for insurance money, or to get some gullible sap to pay them cash. Quite a few have been charged doing this. Best one was the *** who on hwy401 threw it into reverse and swore up and down he was rear-ended. Little did he know the guy he hit had a dash cam. Yep, he was charged with several offences, and with video, no way he'll get out of it.
