Got my wife's D30 stripped, then painted, ready for next weekend's install, replacing the 2WD axle beam! I stripped the calipers and brackets off as this axle is off a '00, and we're using her '04 calipers and brackets. This D30 has 3.73 gears and a Vari-Loc. Everyone in our club seems to want to paint suspension/axle parts, and Kristy wanted her axles red to match the WJ.

I don't, really. They ride pretty rough. That's one the next things I plan on changing. I plan on trying Bilsteins next. Lots of people seem to love them.

I always found that having little or no brake dust on the wheels came with poor brakes. Hard pad compounds mean less pad wear but more rotor wear. Fast road and race pads I have run on other cars in the past made loads of dust but the rotors lasted ages and stopped the cars on a six pence.

They seem to stop good enough for me. Actually I replaced them about 3 months after I bought the jeep and they stopped a lot better than what was on there to begin with and I'm fine with my clean wheels

Heater core replacement on my cousins WJ. Everything was going great until we went to pull the dash away from the firewall. Took a little searching online to find there's one nut hidden back up under the dash above the steering column.

Got the core swapped and the dash put back in place before it started raining. So far we have about 3 hours of work into this project. Maybe another hour and a half left to clean up and reinstall everything.

Much easier than my ZJ.
